February 4, 2002 From My Heart To Yours... It hardly seems possible, but February is now upon us, the last month of Winter, and Spring cannot be too far away. Where did the first month of this year go, and how did it get by me so quickly? It seems, the older I get, the more I am asking those kinds of questions. I am told it has something to do with the "aging process" (whatever that is)! I am reminded, however, of the importance of taking advantage of every moment of every day, realizing just how important THIS day is, because this is the ONLY day I have. The writer of the book of Proverbs gives some sound, practical advice for "planners", yea "worriers" like me, when he says, "And don't go ahead and boast and brag about tomorrow, because you don't know what a day may bring forth". Hmmm, maybe there's something to that. The MOST IMPORTANT day on our calendar is....TODAY, this day. And, what am I doing with it? I have a little plaque in my office that I received as a gift many years ago. On it is written the often-quoted words, "There is only one life; it will soon be passed. And, ONLY what's done for Jesus will last". You know, it's true. So, I will simply encourage you to take advantage of TODAY. Let God touch, bless, and minister through your life TODAY. Be a channel through which His love can flow TODAY. Allow Him to touch another life through your life TODAY. Tell someone you love them TODAY. Make that apology, or right that wrong TODAY.
