Here's My Heart...

It's almost impossible to comprehend, but the month of March is already
here! What happened to January and February? It seems like only a few days ago we were preparing to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. Now here we are, getting ready for the celebration of Easter, the day of the resurrection, and before long, Vacation Bible School, Summer Camps, Mission Trips, and on and on.

All of this reminds me that time doesn't stand still for any of us. If you find that hard to believe, pick up today's newspaper and turn to the obituaries. There it is. Time on earth for some may have ended, but time doesn't stand still. When I was younger, of course, I viewed time much differently. Like most children, teenagers, and young adults, the philosophy of my life was, "Hey, I've got all the time in the world!" Well, I really didn't, and I still don't. What I do have is the time God is giving me RIGHT NOW.

Several years ago, someone gave me a small ceramic plaque that I still have and look at quite often. Inscribed on it are some words you are likely familiar with. It says, "Only one life; twill soon be past; and only what's done for Christ will last!" It's true, you know. Of all the investments we are making, there is none more important than the investment we are making in the lost souls of men, women, boys, and girls. Oh, and the dividends? They're eternal...everlasting...never-ending. What a return on our investment!

Yes, it's already March, and before we know it, we will again be getting ready to celebrate Christmas and another New Year. Why? Because time doesn't stand still for any of us. And, the question is, how are you spending your time, and how am I spending mine? It's one of those "thoughts worth thinking".

God bless you.
