March, 2007 Here’s My Heart... REVIVAL and SPIRITUAL AWAKENING are on my heart right now. In a just a few days, March 25th-28th, we will have a Revival And Spiritual Awakening MEETING. Why the emphasis on the word MEETING? I'm glad you asked. You see, neither REVIVAL nor SPIRITUAL AWAKENING are guaranteed because we set aside a few days on our calendar, give out fliers, and invite someone to come preach for us. REVIVAL and SPIRITUAL AWAKENING are not found in a MEETING, but rather in MEETING GOD'S CONDITIONS. And, just what are those conditions? I'm glad you asked. God's conditions for REVIVAL and SPIRITUAL AWAKENING are found in 2 Chronicles 7:14, and there are four of them. I believe we have to meet ALL FOUR conditions for God to send REVIVAL and SPIRITUAL AWAKENING. Here they are, in their proper order. We must: (1) Humble Ourselves, (2) Pray, (3) Seek The Face (The Will, The Heart) Of God, and (4) Repent Of Our Sin. It is then, and only then, that God promises to: (1) Hear From Heaven, (2) Forgive Our Sin, and (3) Heal Our Land. So, the "key" to revival is not up to God. He's ready, willing, and more than able to give us the REVIVAL and SPIRITUAL AWAKENING we say we so desparately seek and need. The "key", however, is if we are willing to meet HIS conditions. Well, are we? On those four days, March 25th-28th (Sunday through Wednesday), I assure you we will hear from the Word of God. I will be preaching on Sunday morning. Donny Crass will be preaching on Sunday evening. Dr. Doug Sager, Senior Pastor of FBC, Concord, will be preaching on Monday evening. Kevin Rogers, Student Minister at FBC, Alcoa, will be preaching on Tuesday evening. And, Dr. Walter Taylor, Director Of Missions for the Knox County Baptist Association, will be preaching on Wednesday evening. I am going to ask each member of DLBC to stop what you are doing right now and make a commitment to be here for those four days....four days, that's all. That leaves you 361 days until March 25th rolls around again. I know it will be Spring. I know about baseball and Spring sports. I know about school. I also know about those only come on Sunday morning, and I know Daylight Savings Time will already be in effect, and I know we are beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening, and 6:30 p.m. the other three evenings, meant to allow time for you to be home early.
