Here's My Heart...

How can "mortal lips" possibly explain the impact of the resurrection? Try as we may, sing as loud and as melodious as are able, paint or write with all the skill and talent we possess, and we will still come up short.

To so many people, Easter is a time for new Spring clothes, candy, colored eggs, and bunnies. For others, it is ONE of the two or three Sundays a year when we feel obligated to attend a worship service. And, for others, it is simply "another day".

But, the most important question remains: What does Easter mean to YOU,
to ME? Here's what it means to a "believing world": "We serve a RISEN
SAVIOR, He's in the world today! We know that he is living, whatever men
may say!" A "RISEN SAVIOR", alive, active, loving, caring, forgiving,
reaching-out, touching, saving, and seeking to be Lord in our lives.

New Spring clothes? Candy? Colored eggs? Bunnies? A single Sunday
to go to church? Just another day? Or, will you celebrate the risen Savior, the risen Lord, and allow this Easter season to be a true time for renewal and re-commitment?

One other word about Easter. It is also the time when our church, and
churches all across the Southern Baptist Convention, will receive our Annie
Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions. What an exciting
opportunity to say, in a tangible way, "We care about the 5000+ mean and
women, serving throughout the North American continent, who are caring the Gospel to those who need to hear." We will receive our offering on Easter Sunday morning, and our goal for this year is $8,500.00. What will you give?

God bless you. And, from Anita and me, Happy Easter!

-Jim Clayton, Senior Pastor
