Here’s My Heart...

It hardly seems possible that in just a few days the 2006-2007 school year will begin. For students, parents, teachers, andadministrators it means that vacations are coming to a close, and this brief summer season is "winding down". Adjustments will be made and schedules will change. It is a time for "new beginnings".

I am so thankful for "new beginnings", aren't you? It's a theme throughout the Word of God, because we serve a God who allows us to "begin again", and "again", and "again". We serve a God of "starting over", and "over", and "over".

I shudder to think where I would be today if God had not allowed me to "begin again". Where my life has been on a downward spiral, God gave me the opportunity to "begin again". When I have been so discouraged I didn't think I could face another day, God has allowed me to "begin again". And, when the guilt of my personal sin seemed to weigh so heavy that it was overwhelming to me, God called out to me to "begin again".

I am so thankful today to be one who has "started over" many times. I will probably have to "start over" many more times in the future. But, God is faithful. He is ALWAYS faithful. And, when I struggle, He calmly comes to me and says, "Jim, maybe it's time to consider 'starting over'. You know, with Me you can do just that. You can 'begin again'!"

Thank you, Father.
