Here’s My Heart...

Jesus could not have said it any clearer than He did in Matthew 28:19-20. We call it “The Great Commission”. It could more appropriately be called “The Great Command”. He said, “As you are going into the world, share the Gospel with everyone, then baptize them in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, then teach (disciple) them what I have taught you, and I assure you, I will go with you to very end of this age!”

There are some “key words” in these verses: going, sharing, baptizing, and discipling. Each of them is important in the “Kingdom Focused”church. Actually, each of them is vital to the growing church.

As you read this article, ask yourself, “On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being ‘of no significance’, and 10 being ‘of utmost significance’, how important is OUTREACH and DISCIPLESHIP to me?” They were very important to the early church, but are they still important today?

We have chosen, as a church, to carry-out this mandate to “go” through our ministry we call “G.R.O.W.” which stands for “God Rewards Our Work”. And, He does indeed. August is the month of commitment, or re-commitment to our personal involvement in G.R.O.W. Are you presently serving on a G.R.O.W. team? If so, don't you want to continue? If not, would you like to be on a G.R.O.W. team?

You will have that opportunity during the month of August, and you will be hearing about it EACH Sunday during the month. Just think about how many lives could be touched and changed by Jesus if just those who are reading this article right now were to make a commitment to “GO and DISCIPLE”. The possibilities are limitless.

Blessings.
