September, 2007 Here’s My Heart... A new church year, a vote on our new Worship Center, missions, and a birthday celebration are all on my heart today. September signals the beginning of a new church year, and what an exciting year it is shaping-up to be. Did you know that excitement is contagious? It has been proven over and over that, when only a handful of people are excited, the excitement spreads to another, then another, and before you know it, a lot of people are excited. I want you to be excited about this new church year. On Wednesday evening, September 5th, we will finally vote on the construction of a new Worship Center. Our Steering Committee has worked so hard to bring us to this point, and I can hardly wait for the “dirt digging” to begin. This will be the most challenging time our church has faced since the building of the Family Life Center, and I encourage all of us to “get on board” to see what God is going to do. “Tennessee... My Mission Field” is the theme for our State Missions Offering for 2007. Truly, this is our mission field, with well over 1 million people in our state who do not know Jesus as their Savior. Our giving will go a long way toward helping reach these people with the Gospel. Last year we exceeded our goal. I fully expect we will do the same this year. What part of our $5,000.00 goal will YOU be willing to give? On Saturday & Sunday, September 8th & 9th, we will join with our association in an “On Mission Celebration”. On Sunday, September 9th, we will have two missionaries in our church. Sunday morning, Jeff Walters, IMB missionary in Paris, France, will preach in both morning services. Sunday evening, Larry Triplett, NAMB Disaster Relief volunteer, and a member of FBC, Concord, will speak to us. You won’t want to miss this. On Sunday, September 3th, we will close the month with our 125th Birthday Celebration. On that Sunday, we have so many exciting things planned, including a “Dinner On The Grounds”. You will hear much more about this in the days to come. So, as you can see, it’s going to be an exciting month, and remember, excitement IS contagious! Are you excited? I know I am.
