November, 2006 Heres My Heart... PSALM 100 (1) "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. (2) Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. (3) Know that the Lord is God. It is He Who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. (4) Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His Name. (5) For the Lord is good and his love love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations." (NIV) This is one of the most familiar passages in the Bible for the Thanksgiving season. Some of us have committed it to memory. Yet, in the midst of all it's beauty, it explains to us in verse five what we should be thankful people. We should be thankful at this season of the year because of: An ESSENTIAL Truth... "The Lord is good." An ETERNAL Truth... "His love endures forever." An ENDURING Truth... "His faithfulness continues through all generations." What beautiful, poetic, and truthful words. Is it any wonder that the Psalmist encourages us to "give thanks to Him and praise His Name"? Anita and I, with the entire Clayton family, wish for you and your family a very, very Happy Thanksgiving! May it be a time of genuine celebration of the goodness of God. And, may it be a time to really praise His Name! Blessings! Jim Clayton - Senior Pastor |
