Dixie Lee Baptist Church

June 28, 2000

HERE'S MY HEART...

Traditionally, Summer is a very busy time at Dixie Lee Baptist. The summer of 2000 is certainly no exception. Already, we have honored our graduates with a special luncheon, conducted a Mission Vacation Bible School in Michigan, observed Father's Day, and completed the most successful Vacation Bible School in the history of the church. And... July hasn't even arrived. It's good to serve an active God, through an active church, in an increasingly active world.

The month of July promises to be just as active, as we observe Independence Day, send our teens and pre-teens to Centrifuge and Crosspoint, make a second Summer Mission Team construction trip to Chesapeake, Virginia, and observe an "Old-Fashioned Homecoming". Yes, it is indeed good to serve an active God, through an active church, in an active world.

Almost weekly, we are greeting new families, seeing new smiles, stretching our arms around a community that needs to know Jesus and His wonderful love. And, the ministries are far-reaching, and all-encompassing, from nursing homes, to shut-ins, to counseling, sharing, praying, loving, giving of ourselves and our resources, at home and around-the-world.

Let us invite you to come share the "Dixie Lee Difference". We've got a place reserved just for you and your family. We will extend a warm handshake, a friendly smile, maybe even a hug, all in an effort to say. "We Care".

God bless you.

- Jim Clayton, Pastor
