HERE'S MY HEART...

Often, when it comes to our Christian life, we may suffer an "identity crisis". For instance, would you consider yourself a "Mountain Climber" when it comes to your walk with God? Mountains do find their way into our lives sometimes. Then we have a choice. Do we just sit and look at, wishing it were not in our way? Do we wait for years, hoping "somebody else" might push it aside? Or, do we CLIMB it, and get on top of the situation?

Would you consider yourself a "Barrier Breaker", in helping the church see it's potential? Satan loves to suddenly erect barriers to impede the progress of the church. "Doubt" can be a barrier. So can "Tradition". Ironically, even "Growth" itself can sometimes become a barrier to the church moving forward. Are you a person willing to take risks to see a barrier come down? Or, had you rather just "play it safe" and "HOPE" that one day the barrier will just come down on it's own?

Would you consider yourself "Bridge Builder" when it comes to relationships within the family of God? Sometimes, "fractures" happen between well-meaning people in the church. These often become "crevices", or "valleys", impossible to cross, unless somebody is willing to "Build A Bridge". Are you that "somebody"?

As we continue to get ready for what God is about to do at Dixie Lee Baptist Church, we are going to need some willing "Mountain Climbers", "Barrier Breakers", and "Bridge Builders". All it takes is a willingness to say, as Isaiah said, "Here am I, Lord, send me..."

Thank you for visiting our website. October is now upon us, with the "holiday season" just around the corner. It's a busy place at the church right now, and a busy time. But, how exciting to see what God is doing. If you live in our area and do not have a church home, we INVITE you to give us a try. If you visit our area and need a place to worship while here, we ENCOURAGE you to join us. If you are a member of DLBC, we EXPECT you to be here!

God bless you.

Striving To Put Jesus First,
Bro. Jim
