"Well, What Do You Know About Fishing?"- Part 2

HERE'S MY HEART.....

IT WAS SUNDAY MORNING, so it had to be raining!  I am so thankful to

serve a God who knows everything we need, and proportions it as we need it!

And, God sent the people.  Thank you to all those who braved the elements

and came on to church.  Worship on Sunday morning was absolutely incredible,

and our "musical-type folks" did an outstanding job!

WE FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT!  Many times over the years we had had to make

a decision about our Annual Church Picnic because of rain in the forecast.

We (Christel Longmire, Chairperson of the Special Events Committee and

I) made the call early on Sunday morning to go with the forecast.  So, we

had an "Indoor Picnic" in our FLC.  "Blacke-Eye Joe Bryant outdid himself in

preparing b-b-q, ribs, macaroni and cheese, and baked beans.  Our Special

Events Committee and the wonderful cooks at DLBC did the rest.  We brought

lawns chairs and blankets, and we had an awesome time.

WE ENDED OUR DAY, however, on a bit of a sad note, as found out at about

3:00 p.m., that Mr. Glen Sumner, member of our church for several years, and

gentleman and a believer in every sense of the word, had passed away. Mr.

Sumner had suffered a debilitating stroke six years ago, and was never able to

return to church.  Our hearts go out to Mrs. Sumner, their daughters, and

their family at this time.

I LOOK FORWARD to seeing you on Sunday as I wrap-up the message on

"Going Fishing", and we have "Family Worship Day", when all our kids from

"Kid's Own Worship" will be joining us in "big church"!  And, on Sunday

night, we get to hear from our Preschool and Children's Choirs.  It ought to

be a great day!

    Blessings,

    BROTHER JIM
