From The PULPIT To The PEW....
ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY IN EAST TENNESSEE!
And, along with it, what a great day of praise and worship we had. I hope you were here, because I truly believe we experienced a "visitation from God" in both worship
services. Thank you for your kind comments, but more than that, to God be the glory for the "heart decisions" that were made.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for your response to the Annual Food Drive for Manna
House in Tazewell. As you know, many of the families we touch through our ministry to Forge Ridge School in Harrogate, are also touched by the food and clothing ministries of Manna House. We will be delivering the barrels sometime this week, and I can only begin to imagine how God is going to bless what we have given.
THANK YOU, ALSO, for the response to the "Dessert For Sunday Lunch"
emphasis yesterday, as a part of our DLBC team for "Relay For Life". I am glad we are once again sponsoring a team from our church to support the American Cancer Society. Hardly a family in our church has not been touched, directly or indirectly, by this horrible disease. I truly believe a cure is in sight, and I want us to be one of the groups on the "cutting edge" to help find it.
UPWARD BASKETBALL AND CHEERLEADING for 2010 comes to a close this coming Saturday morning. There are so many people to thank, and I will not
try to do that in this limited space. However, I must recognize the efforts of JEFF ABSTON, our Upward Director, who has once again gone "above and beyond" in making this another successful season. You will hear more about the "End-Of-Season Rally" in Morning Worship this coming Sunday. The rally will be on Friday, March 19th. Mark your calendar.
IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN! Please remember that Daylight Savings Time begins this coming Sunday, March 14th, at 2:00 a.m. We will need to "spring our clocks FORWARD" one hour before going to bed on Saturday evening, in order to be on time Sunday morning. Yes, I know this is when we "lose" an hour of sleep, but I can assure you that Bible Study and Worship will be worth it!
I WILL LOOK FORWARD to seeing you this coming Sunday.
BLESSINGS!
BROTHER JIM
