From The PULPIT To The PEW.....

FROM EVERYTHING I HAVE HEARD, Baptist Men's Day 2012 was an incredible day of praise and worship.  I know Roger, Doug Hope, the Men's Choir, Phil Peek, and Brady Wassenaar all did an outstanding job, and I know Jesus was honored and lifted-up, and that's what matters.  In addition, I want Rick McGill to know how thankful I am that he "held the rope" for me last Wednesday night for Prayer Meeting.

I WILL NEVER be able to adequately express my gratitude for all those who have "stepped-up" the past three weeks.  Our Deacon Ministers are awesome, and each one asked has been so willing to fill-in, wherever asked.  Roger and Rick have truly shown themselves to be my "staff brothers".  And, the calls, visits, e-mails, text messages, meals, and PRAYERS will forever remain etched in mine and Anita's hearts.  I know others, from other places, will see this, but DLBC is the GREATEST CHURCH we have been privileged to serve!  I am truly humbled to be your pastor.

I HEARD EARLY THIS MORNING (Monday) that Mrs. Susan Tinnell went to be with Jesus.  I know you will pray for her husband, Jesse, her daughter, Mary, and the rest of the family.  She truly "fought the good fight", and now is pain-free and at rest.

WELL, YOU CANNOT POSSIBLY KNOW how much I look forward to seeing you this coming Sunday.  If nothing goes "haywire" between now and then, I plan to preach this coming Sunday morning, and I am SO excited about that.  Oh, and you will likely recognize me, because I will be the one with the "knee-scooter", one of the greatest inventions since fire and light!
