 DAWN TAYLOR

Children’s Director

Dawn Taylor is our Children’s Director at Dixie Lee Baptist Church. She was born and raised in Knoxville (the Halls area) and attended Beaver Dam Baptist Church, where she worked as a paid nursery worker starting at age 15 and as a daycare worker for several years. She attended Austin Peay University in Clarksville, TN, and earned a bachelors of science in elementary education with honors in 2000. After completing student teaching, she returned home to Knoxville in January 2001 and started teaching at Adrian Burnette Elementary in February. She was blessed to remain at ABES, teaching fifth grade and then kindergarten, until she stopped teaching in May 2007.

Dawn and her husband, John, joined Dixie Lee Baptist Church in 2007. Their children, Benjamin and Aubrey, have grown up in this church. “We feel very blessed to call Dixie Lee Baptist home!”

Dawn has been involved in many of the children’s activities over the years: toddler room teacher, AWANA Cubbies leader, preschool committee, consignment sale coordinator, VBS crafts leader, and more. On Sunday mornings, you can find her in the toddler room working alongside Joy Resseguie caring for our babies and toddlers.

Dawn feels privileged to be serving as DLBC’s children’s director, to support and encourage our families as their children “Grow in Christ.”
